Is it time?
If your pool is holding stains, going milky, feeling rough underfoot, or drinking chemicals without ever coming right, the surface is telling you something. Surface deterioration doesn't fix itself — it gets dearer the longer it's left.
A renovated, sealed surface isn't just about looks. It's far easier to keep in chemical balance, resists stains, and adds years to the life of the pool.
How we do it
- Empty & brace
- The pool is drained, and shells are braced so they hold their shape while empty. Done correctly — with the hydrostatic valve managed — so the shell can't lift.
- Sand back
- The whole surface is sanded back so the new coating bonds properly — no shortcuts, no coating over problems.
- Grind out osmosis
- Osmosis blisters are ground out and drained one by one. You might see thirty from the edge; with the water out there can be hundreds. We get every one we can find and show you photos as we go.
- Re-fibreglass the shell
- The shell is re-fibreglassed with a new membrane and filler coat — the strongest, longest-lasting repair — restoring the pool's structural integrity.
- Gel coat finish
- A gel coat finish seals the surface in your chosen blue and gives the pool that resort look.
A proper renovation, not just a paint job
Most fibreglass pool renovations run between $15,000 and $20,000. The price depends on the size of the pool, how much osmosis turns up once the water is out, and optional upgrades like new waterline tiles or a replacement light.
You may have seen epoxy-painted pools quoted at around half the price. Epoxy has its place, but manufacturers only rate it for about five years. A full fibreglass renovation — new membrane, filler coat and gel coat — is a much thicker, longer-lasting finish, and it's what we recommend for a pool you want to keep.
Options that bling up the pool
Waterline mosaic tiles
A fresh band of mosaic waterline tiles lifts the whole pool. Supplied and fitted, or supply your own.
Colour of your choice
Standard finishes are light, medium and dark blue. Specialty colours are available for a little more.
New LED light
While the pool is empty it's the right time for a new multicoloured LED light with transformer.

We no longer offer fleck finishes — manufacturers have had long-term warranty problems with them, and we'd rather give you a finish that lasts.
Our warranty
Every renovation carries a 2-year workmanship warranty, in writing, on top of your statutory warranties. It doesn't extend to pre-existing structural issues, plumbing failures, or ground movement, and we'll explain exactly what's covered on site.
